BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, December 19. The capsule for the construction of a state-of-the-art factory producing insulated glass was laid in the city of Shopokov, in the Chuy region of Kyrgyzstan, Trend reports.
According to the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund (RKDF) data, the construction of the new factory is set to commence in the spring of 2024, with its operations expected to begin by the end of the same year. The RKDF allocated $5.3 million for the construction work.
The project is being undertaken by Kyrgyz Glassland Company, which already manufactures approximately 300,000 square meters of insulated glass annually. The implementation of this project aims to almost double this production capacity, not only substituting imported products but also facilitating the export of domestic goods.
"Without the support of the RKDF, this project would have been impossible. Thanks to the fund, we will establish a facility providing employment for 600 individuals. We will relocate our production to the new facility, set up the production of large-format insulated glass, and manufacture windows using aluminum and PVC profiles," Bakytbek Alimov, the director of Glassland Company, remarked.
Artem Novikov, Chairman of the RKDF Board, noted that the Fund has been collaborating with this company since 2020. Earlier, Glassland received preferential financing for the acquisition of an automated production line for architectural insulated glass.
The Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund aims to facilitate economic cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Russia, modernize and develop the Kyrgyz economy, and effectively leverage the opportunities arising from both sides' participation in Eurasian economic integration.
