BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 18. German federal states are actively involved in strengthening bilateral relations with Kyrgyzstan, Gabriela Guellil, German Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, told Trend.

"Cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Bavaria is part of Germany's engagement across a broad spectrum of fields. During my three years here, I have witnessed special dynamics in Bavarian-Kyrgyz relations. High-ranking Kyrgyz politicians have visited Munich and engaged in discussions with various counterparts. The Kyrgyz Ambassador in Germany, Omurbek Tekebaev, has also made several visits to Bavaria, preparing the ground for a more intensive exchange on different issues, for instance, the tender for Manas Airport," she said.

The ambassador emphasized that a recent but crucial focus has been on recruiting qualified labor for employment in Bavarian companies.

"Currently, a significant number of Kyrgyz students have been recruited for seasonal jobs in Bavaria. Additionally, Kyrgyz Au Pairs are residing in Bavarian households, caring for underage children," she noted.

Guellil highlighted that the Cham region in Northern Bavaria is actively attracting young people from Kyrgyzstan to local companies, aiming to integrate them into the workforce with proper training. Last year, this pilot project involved 20 individuals, and this year, we aim to increase it to 50.

"I believe such initiatives will foster friendships, enhance skills, meet the labor demands of our industries, and promote cultural exchange. A delegation from Cham has recently completed a productive visit to Kyrgyzstan. This is concrete action, and we will continue on this path," she added.

The ambassador pointed out that there are numerous sectors where cooperation can be further intensified. One challenge is the requirement for German language proficiency for vocational training or employment.

"This primarily falls under the responsibility of the Kyrgyz education system. It's crucial to explore how Germany, and specifically Bavaria, can assist in providing support," she stressed.

Guellil also highlighted the Kyrgyz-German Business Council, established two years ago, aimed at deepening business-to-business relations.

"I won't single out specific sectors but emphasize that there are ample opportunities and promising areas aligning with both our and Kyrgyzstan's national priorities," she concluded.
