BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, May 7. Kyrgyzstan imported 14,813 tons of petroleum coke and bitumen from Kazakhstan from January through February 2025 for a total value of $5.420 million.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Statistical Committee shows that the import volume rose by 38.5 times compared to just 384 tons imported in the same period of 2024. The value of imports surged 142 times from $38,409 in January–February 2024.
Overall, Kyrgyzstan imported 17,201 tons of petroleum coke and bitumen in the first two months of 2025, which is over three times more than the 4,994 tons recorded during the same period last year. The import value reached $6.026 million, which is 4.7 times more than the $1.2 million recorded from January through February 2024.
Kyrgyzstan’s total foreign trade turnover amounted to $2.07 billion in January–February 2025, marking a 13.2 percent decline compared to the same period in 2024. Exports totaled $314.4 million (down 4.7 percent), while imports dropped by 14.6 percent to $1.756 billion.
