Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, May 15 / Trend, H.Hasanov /
On Tuesday President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov starts his two-day working visit to the Russian Federation, where he will attend an informal meeting of the CIS Heads of States in Moscow, as well as will visit the Republic of Tatarstan, the Turkmen government said on Tuesday.
In 2012, Turkmenistan presides over the CIS.
"As an associate member of the CIS, which is primarily due to our country's permanent neutrality status, Turkmenistan, in fact, demonstrates its commitment to an active position towards partnership within the CIS," the report says.
This year Turkmenistan also plans to hold a series of events intended to promote enhanced partnership on its perspective directions. In particular, a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States and a meeting of the CIS Electric Power Council are scheduled to be held in Ashgabat in the near future.
A government report says that on the second day of his working visit to Russia, President Berdimuhammadov will visit Tatarstan.
"Upcoming negotiations between Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov and President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in Kazan are intended to give new impetus to bilateral cooperation, which is built on a long term basis and has solid potential," the report says.
Turkmenistan cooperates with such companies such as "KAMAZ" and "Tatneft" in Tatarstan.
