BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 17. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree according to which the State Agency for Road Construction Management will conclude a contract with Altcom Road Construction LLC for the design and construction of the bridge, Trend reports with reference to Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.
The bridge will be built with two-way two-lane traffic across the Kara-Bogaz-Gol Bay along the Turkmenbashi -Garabogaz highway - the border of Kazakhstan.
The document prescribes to start work in July 2022 and to hand over the road bridge with full readiness for operation in June 2024.
Currently, Turkmenistan is striving to increase the transit potential of the country and form a modern system for the transportation of goods and passengers.
