TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, May 16. Uzbekneftegaz (Uzbekistan's oil and gas company) and US Baker Hughes Company signed an agreement providing for service maintenance of compressor stations, Trend reports.
The document was signed at a meeting within the framework of the Oil and Gas of Uzbekistan - OGU-2024 International Exhibition.
The sides also decided to hold a remote technical session dedicated to modern technologies and solutions for carbon dioxide utilization for specialists of Uzlitineftgaz (Uzbekistan's research and design institute for the oil and gas industry) and Uzbekneftegaz.
Both parties put forward a proposal to create a working group consisting of responsible technical specialists from Uzbekneftegaz, Uzlitineftegaz, and Baker Hughes, as well as to organize a joint study of the possibilities of replacing gas turbine engines with electric motors.
Meanwhile, trade turnover volume between Uzbekistan and the US amounted to $205.7 million from January through March 2024. It dropped 29.4 percent year-over-year to $158.9 million in January–March 2023.
The US ranked eleventh among the countries with the largest volume of foreign trade turnover in Uzbekistan.
