TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, August 20. Uzbekistan imported 76.4 million tons of gasoline worth $50.7 million from January through July 2024, Trend reports.
According to the data from Uzbekistan's Customs Committee, this figure shows a 59.1 percent growth compared to the same period last year (48 million tons in January–July 2023).
The gasoline imports to the country declined to 12.2 million tons in July 2024, compared to 8.9 million tons in June 2024.
In addition, Uzbekistan's imports of crude oil and petroleum products amounted to $455.6 million during this period.
Meanwhile, the volume of motor gasoline production in Uzbekistan amounted to 674,500 tons from January through June 2024, which shows a 3.6 percent growth year-on-year (650,900 tons in January–June 2023).
Furthermore, the production of motor gasoline shot up to 105,600 tons in June 2024, surpassing the 104,900 tons produced in May 2024.
