TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 10. The value of the electric vehicles imported by Uzbekistan was $166.8 million.
According to the data obtained by Trend from Uzbekistan’s Statistics Agency, a total of 12,913 electric vehicles were imported.
During this stretch, Uzbekistan's electric vehicle imports were dominated by China, which sent over 12,840 vehicles to the country. Following closely behind were Kazakhstan with a mere 22 vehicles, Hong Kong with 15, Germany with 12, the UAE with 10, and the US trailing with 9 vehicles.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan's volume of imports amounted to $25.3 billion from January through August 2024, which shows 7.4 percent growth year-on-year.
In the import landscape, machinery and transportation equipment made up a hefty 35.5 percent, industrial goods chipped in with 15.1 percent, while chemicals and similar products rounded it out at 12.3 percent.
