Japanese Foreign Minister Takeaki Matsumoto appreciated his Iranian counterpart Ali Akbar Salehi 's message for Tsunami in northeast of the country.

Japanese Foreign Minister Takeaki Matsumoto appreciated his Iranian counterpart Ali Akbar Salehi's message for Tsunami in northeast of the country, ISNA reported.

"I sincerely thank you for your warm and compassionate message and your sympathy with Japanese nation," Matsumoto said in his message of appreciation to his Iranian counterpart.

The Japanese official also expressed appreciation over Iran's readiness to aid victims.

"Japan is determined to reconstruct the country as soon as possible through using its utmost capabilities and with the help of Japanese nation," Matsumoto continued.

Last week's powerful earthquake and tsunami inflicted heavy damages to Japan.

Reports say that 10,000 people were killed by the huge Tsunami so far and the number is likely to climb to 20,000.
