BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 7. During the seven months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through October 21, 2024), the sales of products from 90 companies in Iran's mining industry on the Iranian Mercantile Exchange decreased by 5 percent compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through October 22, 2023).
The data obtained by Trend from the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) shows that the sales volume of Iran's mining companies' products amounted to $10.6 billion on the mercantile exchange.
Meanwhile, exchange sales of mining companies amounted to $1.63 billion for seven months (from September 22 through October 21, 2024). This is 0.06 percent less than the same period of last year.
To note, Iran has about 12,000 mines. Reportedly, the reserves of Iran's mines are more than 50 billion tons. The production capacity of Iran's mines averages more than 400 million tons per year.
Iran's mining exports amounted to 30.5 million (30,477,538) tons worth $6.33 billion during six months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through September 21, 2024).
