BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 12. Iran’s Kish gas field could become one of the country's most significant sites for investment by major industrial players and end-users, said Toraj Dehghani, CEO of the Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC), Trend reports.
Speaking at the 29th Iran International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition, Dehghani noted that 10 of the 14 planned wells at the Kish gas field have already been developed, and production of up to 28 million cubic meters of gas is anticipated.
He noted that if full-scale investment is made, the field's production capacity could reach between 75 and 100 million cubic meters per day. To support this potential, a processing plant is planned to be constructed in Aftab City on Kish Island.
Meanwhile, it is worth mentioning that on February 4, 2023, POGC signed a contract with the Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company for the development of the first phase of the Kish gas field, located in the southern province of Hormozgan in the Persian Gulf. The agreement involves an investment of $900 million, with fourteen wells to be drilled and completed by the National Drilling Company.
