Iran augments product export via its Bushehr Province customs

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 11. Iran's export of products via the Bushehr Province customs located in the country's south rose by 12 percent in value and three percent in weight during 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through February 18, 2025) compared to the same period last year (from March 21, 2023, through February 19, 2024), the customs inspector of Bushehr Province Customs Office Ali Soleimani told reporters, Trend reports.

According to Soleimani, the exports via the province customs totaled 28.6 million tons of products worth $11 billion during the 11 months.

Soleimani added that in the reporting period, the exports mainly included petrochemical products, gas condensate, cement, fish and shrimp, vegetables, etc. The main export destinations were China, UAE, India, Pakistan, Brazil, Iraq, Türkiye, Oman, Qatar and Bangladesh.

The official pointed out that during the mentioned period, Iran imported 8,245 tons of products worth $2.56 billion through the province's customs. The product imports grew by 26 percent in value and 33 percent in weight compared to the same period last year.

He emphasized that in the 11 months, the main import products were fabrics, factory equipment and spare parts, passenger car spare parts, bananas, tea, and others. The products were mainly imported from the UAE, China, India, the Philippines, Russia, Türkiye, Sri Lanka, Japan, Malaysia and Hong Kong.

Iran's Customs Administration data shows that the country's total exports of non-oil products amounted to 141 million tons worth $53.4 billion during 11 months of this Iranian year. Compared to the same period last year, non-oil exports increased by 19 percent in value and 12.6 percent in weight.

The administration data also shows that Iran imported 35 million tons of products worth $63.6 billion during 11 months, meaning increase of 5.6 percent in value, but decrease of 2.6 percent in weight terms compared to the same period last year.
