Iran's Kermanshah province sees transit growth

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 9. Transit through Kermanshah province, located in western Iran, increased by 95 percent in value and 52 percent in weight in the first eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through November 20, 2024) compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through November 21, 2023), the controller of customs of Iran's Kermanshah province Ali Asghar Abbaszadeh told reporters, Trend reports.

According to Abbaszadeh, 3.5 million tons of products worth $1.77 billion were transported through Kermanshah province during the past eight months.

Abbaszadeh added that about 3.5 million tons of products worth $1.77 billion were transported through Kermanshah province's Parviz Khan customs. Transit of products through this customs office increased by 101 percent in value terms and 55 percent in weight terms compared to the same period last year.

The customs officer informed that 311 tons of products worth $1.95 million were transported through Khosrow Customs of the province during the reporting period.

The official said that fuel oil, naphtha, technical oil, and bitumen products were mainly transited through the province.

To note, 14.7 million tons of products were transited through Iran in the first eight months. Transit through Iran increased by 34.9 percent compared to the same period last year.
