All of the 13 Polish nationals killed in a bus crash on a German motorway have been identified, authorities said Wednesday, allowing families to repatriate the bodies three days after the accident, dpa reported.

The last five victims of Sunday's accident were identified by colleagues who travelled from Poland.

German officials initially spoke a possible delay in releasing the bodies from the morgue and of having to obtaining DNA samples from the relatives of the dead in Poland so that lab tests would satisfy legal formalities.

But on Wednesday, authorities said that was no longer necessary.

"The death certificates will be issued in the course of today if possible so that the bodies can be released," a spokesman for the prosecutors office said.

The bus carrying 49 people - employees of the forestry service of Zlocieniec in Poland, their relatives and two bus drivers - crashed into a bridge support on the outskirts of Berlin while en route to Poland from Spain.

Police listed 38 survivors as injured. The cause of the crash, which followed a collision with a car, is still being investigated.
