A bomb went off on Thursday morning near a NATO base in Paktia Province in eastern Afghanistan and two local guards were killed, local TV channel Tolo reported. Local residents told Xinhua by telephone that a suicide car bomb going off there injured four guards at around 8:00 a.m. local time (GMT 0330).
