Submission of fictional "Armenian Genocide" for discussions to the Israeli Parliament is related with problems arising in the Israeli-Turkish relations, Azerbaijani Milli Mejlis (Parliament) MP said.
"Because of the lack of problems in relations between Azerbaijan and Israel, we must try to prevent the discussion of this issue. To this end, the working group on inter-parliamentary relations of Azerbaijan and Israel should prepare a statement to be adopted after discussions. If we send a statement to the Israeli parliament, it will be another act of Azerbaijan's support to Turkey," Agil Abbas said today.
"Armenian genocide" will not be submitted for discussions in the Knesset, there is no need to worry about," Azerbaijani MP Evda Abramov, chairman of the Azerbaijan-Israel interparliamentary working group said.
According to him, Israel parliament will discuss only the possibility of including this issue in the agenda April 28.
"We contacted with our colleagues in the Israeli parliament, and they assured us that, the issue will not be included in the agenda as it was two and a half years ago," Abramov said.
According to MP, Israel's relations with Azerbaijan, as well as with Turkey are developing at a high level, and the adoption of decision on the "Armenian genocide" by the Knesset is not possible.
Armenia and the Armenian lobby state that the predecessor of Turkey - the Ottoman empire committed "genocide" against Armenians living in Anatolia in 1915. Armenians willing to recognize this fact in the world by strengthening propaganda of the so-called "genocide" in the world countries achieved its recognition by the parliaments of some countries.
