In case of victory at the elections the National Council threatens to turn the Tbilisi mayor's office in the center of political struggle with the current regime and begin preparation for early presidential and parliamentary elections.

The main priority of the National Council is the change of power. Victory in the local elections will help them, a candidate for mayor of Tbilisi from the National Council Zviad Dzidziguri said at a briefing.

"We are ready to form a coalition government and cooperate with all concerned opposition forces. A plan to change the government exists. Victory in local elections will play an important role in its implementation",  Dzidziguri said.

From his part, the leader of the 'Movement for Fair Georgia' and a member of the National Council Zurab Nogaideli said that main efforts will focus on the organization of early presidential and parliamentary elections.

"We see the country's state. It is necessary to overthrow this government. We will do everything to make this goal real", Nogaideli said.
