Newspaper: First air strikes on Syria should destroy up to 450 sites

If the coalition forces begin an intervention into Syria, then the first air strikes should destroy up to 450 sites, Hürriyet newspaper reported on Wednesday citing a NATO source.

According to the newspaper, after the decision about starting operations in Syria is adopted, a no-fly zone over Syria will be immediately declared. At the same time forces belonging to the Syrian army will be struck.

According to the newspaper, it is planned to create a buffer zone on the border with Turkey for safe delivery of humanitarian aid to the county's population during the second phase of military operations against Syria.

Some Western countries, as well as Turkey have already supported intervention to Syria following another escalation of the situation in the country. On August 21 Media outlets informed about the large-scale use of chemical weapons near Damascus by the Syrian Government Troops.

According to the preliminary data, over 600 people became the victims of the attack. National Coalition of Syrian Opposition claims that the number of victims could reach 1,300 people. After the incident the parties of the conflict repeatedly declared about their innocence, and accused the opponents.

Earlier the US president declared that the use of chemical weapon will be a "red line" for Bashar Assad regime. Media outlets reported about the preparation of Navy and Air Force of these countries to begin the intervention.
