Azerbaijan held a trial over an individual accused of killing police officers.
Serious Crimes Court held a hearing on Baku resident Sahib Hasanov's criminal case, in which the prosecutor read out.
The prosecutor demanded life sentence for Hasanov.
Verdict will be announced Apr.12.
Hasanov is charged of murder of police Capitan Rovshan Rahimov and police lieutenant Ilgar Agayev. Both murdered were employees of Sabunchi District Police Station 14
An armed incident between law enforcement employees and Baku Nardaran village residents occurred Jan. 25, 2006. While returning from Bilgah village the police officers were stopped by Ramiz Gasanov, Gasan Azimov, Ilham Guliyev and Sahib Hasanov.
During the shootout, Rahimov was seriously injured. He died at the scene of incident. Ilgar Agayev was seriously wounded.
Agayev shot dead Gasanov and wounded Azimov and Guliyev. Agayev died later of heavy wounds.
The arrested are charged with Articles 120.2.1, 120.2.3, 120.2.10 (Deliberate Murder), 181 (robbery), 228 (illegal purchase, transfer, selling, storage, transportation and carrying of fire-arms, accessories to it, supplies, explosives) of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code.
