ASTANA, Kazakhstan, December 20. Extensive investment initiatives for the manufacture of green hydrogen and the establishment of a 50 MW wind power facility daily are underway in the Mangistau region of Kazakhstan, Trend reports.
This was announced by Akim (Governor) Nurdaulet Kilybay at a briefing at the Central Communications Service.
According to the Akim, as part of the green hydrogen production project being implemented by the German company Svevind, a desalination plant, renewable energy stations (wind and solar) with a total capacity of 40 gigawatts, and an electrolyzer plant with a capacity of 20 GW will be built. This will allow for the production of 2 million tons of green hydrogen or 11 million tons of green ammonia per year. The project will involve an investment of 50 billion euros. The construction phase will create 3,500 jobs, while the operational phase will provide 1,800 permanent jobs. The project is expected to be fully operational by 2030.
It has also been revealed that the "Sarkylmas Quat" wind power station, which will be built in the Munayshi village of the Karakiyan district, is planned to be commissioned in 2025. The project, with a cost of $25.62 million (13.474 billion tenge), will cover an area of 45.5 hectares. It will consist of 8 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 6.25 MW. 120 people will be involved during construction, and the operation phase will create 15 permanent jobs.
Zhanaozen is also planning a hybrid power plant that utilizes renewable energy sources. The power plant will include a 50 MW solar power station (75,000 units), a 77 MW wind power station (11 units), and a 120 MW gas piston power plant. The construction period is set for 2024-2026.
To note, the SVEVIND Energy Group is a privately owned group of companies based in Dresden, Germany. Entrepreneur Wolfgang Kropp founded and established the SVEVIND Energy Group, specializing in the planning and development of large-scale renewable energy projects.
