ASTANA, Kazakhstan, January 10. Kazakhstan's KazMunayGas is enhancing its strategic partnerships in subsurface exploration initiatives with Shell and Chevron, Trend reports.

A meeting was held in Astana between KazMunayGas CEO Askhat Hasenov, Senior Vice President and Chairman of Shell in Kazakhstan Ali Al-Janabi, and Deputy Managing Director of Chevron's Eurasian division Dylan Morgan. During the talks, KazMunayGas signed agreements with Shell and Chevron granting access to geological information, which will enable the effective use of seismic survey results for planning joint exploration work.

"We are confident that partnerships with leading global energy companies will provide new momentum for the development of geological exploration in Kazakhstan and will help attract new technologies and foreign direct investment," noted A. Hasenov.

The collaboration with the partners is aimed at jointly studying the prospects of the "Mugodjar" project in the Aktobe region.
