ASTANA, Kazakhstan, March 17. In advance of the beginning of 2025, more than 12 million citizens of Kazakhstan will have access to natural gas, stated by the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Olzhas Bektenov, in his article summarizing the presidency of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev over the past six years, Trend reports.

"In 2024, more than 1,700 kilometers of gas networks were built. This year, 45 more gasification projects for settlements are being implemented, which will increase the coverage to 12.4 million people, and the gasification level to 62 percent," the statement reads.

The article also pointed out that a top-notch task is making sure Kazakhstani citizens can get their hands on quality drinking water and giving the water supply system a much-needed facelift.

"In recent years, significant work has been done: in 2019, the water supply coverage was 97.2 percent in cities and 86.4 percent in villages, and today these figures have reached 99.4 percent and 97.8 percent, respectively. Of the 6,256 villages, 5,523 are provided with water," the article states.

The article called attention to the fact that the remaining 833 villages will have access to clean water by the end of the current year. In 238 of them, centralized water supply facilities will be built, and in 595 rural settlements, integrated block modules will be installed.

As previously reported, the Government of Kazakhstan presented the results of the country's development over the past six years. For example, Kazakhstan plans to fully load enterprises that produce goods for the housing and communal services sectors. In addition, it became known that $130 billion in direct foreign investment has been attracted to the Kazakhstani economy over the past six years. Over six years, 2.5 trillion tenge ($5 billion) have been allocated for subsidizing Kazakhstan's agriculture. Non-resource sectors are becoming the drivers of economic growth. The construction industry is showing record growth rates.
