ASTANA, Kazakhstan, March 29. JSC "Uzbekiston Temir Yullari" (Uzbekistan Railways) has declared a 40 percent decrease in the transit cost for Kazakhstani grain transported to Afghanistan (via the Oasis junction to Galaba station), Trend reports via Kazakhstan Railways.
This became known during a working meeting of the leadership of JSC Kazakhstan Railways and JSC "Uzbekistan Railways in Almaty, where matters concerning the advancement of cooperation in transportation and logistics were deliberated. The parties reported the outcomes of their collaborative efforts from the preceding year and delineated goals for 2025.
It was also underscored that Kazakhstan Railways, by increasing the capacity of the Sary Agash junction by 50 percent, ensured the full execution of all cargo sender plans.
In addition, the parties agreed to strengthen joint efforts to develop the Trans-Afghan Corridor.
The Trans-Afghan Corridor is a project that aims to create a transport and energy route through Afghanistan, with the goal of connecting Central Asia with South Asia, as well as with other regions. The main goal is to develop infrastructure to facilitate trade, improve connectivity, and foster economic cooperation between these regions.
