BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 21. Azerbaijan exported 428,400 tons of crude oil and crude oil products obtained from bituminous rocks worth $238.7 million to Croatia in the first quarter of this year.
Data obtained by Trend from the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee indicates that the export volume grew by 349,100 tons (5.4 times), and the value by $188.2 million (4.7 times) year on year.
In the reporting period, Croatia ranked 4th among the top importers of Azerbaijani oil.
To note, Azerbaijan exported six million tons of petroleum products to 13 countries, generating $3.3 billion in revenue from January through March 2025.
The exported items included oil and petroleum products derived from bituminous rocks, excluding crude oil, and those with a petroleum content of 70 percent or more by weight.
The export volume increased by 7.3 percent, or more than 411,100 tons, compared to the same period last year. However, in value terms, oil product exports fell by 4.4 percent, amounting to a decrease of around $153.5 million.
In addition, from January through March 2025, the volume of trade operations between Azerbaijan and Croatia amounted to $239.9 million, which is $188.3 million (4.6 times) more compared to the same period in 2024.
During the reporting period, trade turnover with Croatia accounted for 1.99 percent of Azerbaijan’s total trade turnover. As a result, Croatia ranked 10th among the countries with which Azerbaijan carried out the most trade operations.
In the first quarter of this year, Azerbaijan's exports to Croatia amounted to $238.8 million, which is $188.3 million, or 4.7 times more, compared to the same period in 2024. During the reporting period, export operations with Croatia accounted for 3.74 percent of Azerbaijan's total exports.
In the same period of this year, Croatia's imports from Azerbaijan amounted to $1.1 million, which is a decrease of $19 thousand, or 1.6 percent, compared to the same period of the previous year.
