BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 24. Trade transactions between Azerbaijan and Australia have reached a volume of $291.1 million from January through March 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Customs Committee indicates that this marks a significant increase of $289.7 million, or 202.5 times, compared to the same period of 2024.
Trade turnover with Australia accounted for 2.42 percent of Azerbaijan’s total trade volume during the reporting period. As a result, Australia ranked eighth among the countries with which Azerbaijan conducted the most trade operations.
Exports from Azerbaijan to Australia in the first quarter amounted to $54,000, showing an increase of $8,000, or 17.4 percent, compared to the same period last year.
Additionally, imports from Australia to Azerbaijan totaled $291.1 million, which represents an increase of $289.7 million, or 209.1 times, compared to last year. This placed Australia as the fourth-largest country from which Azerbaijan imported goods during the period.
Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover grew by over 24.3 percent, reaching a total of $12 billion from January through March 2025.
Data indicates that exports rose by 6.7 percent, or $401.75 million, totaling $6.4 billion, while imports increased by 52.6 percent, or $1.9 billion, amounting to $5.7 billion.
Meanwhile, the foreign trade balance showed a positive surplus of $722.9 million during the reporting period, which is $5.1 billion, or 3.1 times less than the same period last year.
