BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 14. Azerbaijan's industrial enterprises and individual entrepreneurs produced industrial goods worth 21 billion manat ($12.3 billion) from January through April 2025, marking a slight decrease compared to the same period last year.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Statistics Committee indicates that this represents a 2.2 percent drop in production.
The report further reveals that while output in the oil and gas sector decreased by 3.4 percent, the non-oil and gas sector saw a 5.3 percent increase in production.
Industrial output distribution is as follows: 62.3 percent was generated by the mining sector, 30.6 percent by the manufacturing sector, 6.2 percent by electricity, gas, and steam production, distribution, and supply, and 0.9 percent by water supply, waste treatment, and disposal.
In the mining sector, crude oil production decreased by 5.4 percent, while natural gas production increased by 1.4 percent.
In the processing sector, wood processing and wood products production increased by 90.3 percent, pharmaceutical products production by 54.4 percent, machinery and equipment production by 26.6 percent, leather and leather products, footwear production by 20.1 percent, textile industry products production by 18.7 percent, food products production by 12.5 percent, chemical industry products production by 7.1 percent, computer, electronic and optical products production by 6.3 percent, beverages production by 4 percent, tobacco products production by 3.4 percent, rubber and plastic products production by 2.3 percent, furniture production by 3.6 percent, automobile, trailer and semi-trailer production by 3.9 percent, electrical equipment production by 5.4 percent, petroleum products production by 9.9 percent, finished metal products production by 12.7 percent, construction materials production by 12.9 percent, metallurgical industry products production by 16.7 percent, machinery and equipment installation and repair works by 18.2 percent. However, paper and cardboard production decreased by 26.6 percent, clothing production by 42.8 percent, and printing products production by 48.2 percent.
Production in the electricity, gas, and steam sector saw a modest rise of 1.9 percent, while water supply and waste treatment production increased by 3.7 percent.
