Azerbaijan, Baku, 16 February / corr. Trend U. Ismayilova/ The Committee on Town-Planning and Architecture of Azerbaijan began talks with World Bank to devise new development plan of the city of Baku, Abbas Alasgarov, the head of the Committee said on 15 February in a meeting of the committee, the official press said.
The Committee on Town-Planning and Architecture of Azerbaijan is founded on the basis of the liquidated State Committee on Construction and Architecture at the presidential decree of 28 February 2006. The Committee launched its activities in May 2007.
According to Alasgarov, the Committee holds talks with Belarus, Ukraine, Tatarstan, Poland and Korea to benefit from the town planning and architecture experience of these countries.
He said that the Committee signed a memorandum with the Ministry of Construction and Transport of Korea to cooperate in construction in 2007.
