In January-June Azerbaijan imported 832,200 tons of cement and cement clinker, which is 22 percent lower than the same period of 2008, State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan reported.
Cement clinker in January-June was imported in the amount of over $31 million which is by 15.8 percent less than the same period of 2008.
In this period, cement clinker was imported in volume of 369,400 tons, 20.4 percent lower than last year. Clinker was imported in amount of $12 million, which is 17.6 percent lower than the figure of last year.
During Jan-Jun 2009, the country imported 462,800 tons of cement, which is 23.2 percent less the January-June 2008. The cement during the period was imported worth about $19.4 million, which is 14.6 percent less than last year.
