The Japanese Komatsu company supplies an annual 200 units to Turkmenistan under a contract lasting until 2015.

Road construction and earth-moving machinery are used in the fuel and energy, transport, water and agriculture sectors.

According to the Turkmen government, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with Komatsu President Kunio Noji April 6.

Berdimuhamedov drew his attention to the need to pre-test the new equipment in Turkmenistan given the country's unusual climate and geography. He added that service centers should open throughout the country.

"The company is ready to consider the Turkmen side's wishes, in which we see only a reliable partner," the Japanese businessman said.

He added that Komatsu plans to organize a special department at the Agricultural Institute in the city of Dashoguz. Kunio stressed "the ever-growing interest of Japanese business circles in strengthening their position on the Turkmen market and implementing new joint projects."
