Cutting costs at tourist facilities is a major objective of the Azerbaijani State Tourism Development Program for 2010-2014, Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfaz Garayev said today.
"A decline in the costs on services will take place in parallel to increasing the volume of services available on the market," the minister said.
In the framework of the program, the ministry intends to represent the tourism market as a competitive environment, he added.
"The ministry's main objective is to create conditions for businessmen investing funds in tourism enterprises meeting international standards," Garayev said.
Under the program, the culture and labor ministries and the Azerbaijani State Social Protection Fund will introduce measures to promote social tourism.
