Azerbaijan mainly exports oil and oil products to CIS countries

In January-March 2010, Azerbaijan imported goods worth $380,793 million or 32.87 percent of the total amount of the country's import from the CIS countries compared to the same period of 2009, the State Customs Committee said March 20.

Grain-crops (12.71 percent of total import), vehicles (10.65 percent), electrical machinery and equipment (11.45 percent) ferrous metallurgy products (about 6.77 percent) and tobacco and manufactured tobacco substitutes (7.27 percent) were imported to Azerbaijan from CIS countries.

The amount of export of Azerbaijani goods to CIS countries hit $420,515 million (9.33 percent of total export).

Mineral fuels, oil products, bituminous minerals (41.03 percent of total exports), fruits (2.46 percent), animal and vegetable fats (12.74percent), sugar and confectionery products (4.13 percent), vessels (28.12 percent) and other were mainly exported to CIS countries.

There is red ink worth $39,722 million with CIS countries on import-export transactions.
