In January-February, Azerbaijan imported 193,000 tons of cement and cement clinker, which is 4.2 percent lower than the same period of 2009, State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan reported.
Cement and cement clinker in January-February was imported in amount of $10 million, which is 32.4 percent more than the figure of last year.
During the report period, cement clinker was imported in volume of 70,000 tons, 41.9 percent lower than the figure in the same period of 2009. Clinker was imported in amount of $3.85 million, which is 4.9 percent lower than the figure of last year.
In January-February of this year, the country imported 123,000 tons of cement, which is 58.1 percent more than in January-February 2009. The cement during the period was imported worth about $6.1 million, which is 75.5 percent more than last year.
