About 1.6368 billion manat was invested in the first quarter of 2010 from all funding sources in the development of economic and social spheres of Azerbaijan. This figure is 4.9 percent more than January-March of last year, the State Statistics Committee said.
Thee is about 1143.1 million manat or 69,8 percent of total investment in the construction sector. About 823.1 million was spent for construction of industrial facilities, while in non-production facilities - 813.7 million manat.
Foreign investment increased by 67.4 percent in relation to the comparable period of last year. They amounted to 405.8 million manat. Their share in total investment amounted to 24.8 percent. About 75.2 percent fall to domestic investments. The majority (77.8 percent) of domestic investments were invested in state enterprises and organizations, and only 22.2 percent - in private enterprises.
About 64.5 percent (1,056 million manat) was spent to development of non-oil sector of the country, about 35.5 percent (580.8 million manat) - oil sector.
About 44.4 percent of investments fall to industrial areas, 5.2 percent - agriculture and fisheries, 1.9 percent - trade, 31.4 percent - transport, 0.5 percent - communication, 2 percent - health, 0, 9 percent - education, 5.6 percent - in real estate transactions (of which 5.5 percent - housing), 3.8 percent - leisure, entertainment and culture, 0.1 percent - the financial and insurance activity, 1 , 2 percent - organization of housing, 0.9 percent - education, 1.7 percent - the administrative work and services, 0.4 percent - the rest spheres.
About 847.7 million manat (51.8 percent of total investments) was invested in major capital, bank credit - 55,7 million manat (3,4 percent), budget funds - 586.8 million manat ( 35.9 percent), off-budget funds - 106.2 million manat (6,5 percent), personal funds of the population - 40,1 million manat (2,4 percent), other resources - 0,3 million manat.
