Bankers from South Caucasian countries discuss banking supervision

A working meeting on banking supervision, with the participation of delegations from Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia is held in Tbilisi today.

Measures adopted in these countries in financial crisis and outcome of the conducted policy were discussed at the meeting, Georgia's National Bank deputy president Archil Mestvirishvili said.

"The banking supervision was tough in Georgia. It turned out that it was justified. We will share our experience with our colleagues. Banking supervision will be tough during crisis. Then it will be softened. It will ensure the rapid development of the banking sector", he said.

A working meeting in Tbilisi is held under the initiative of the World Bank and National Bank of Georgia.
