Iran non-oil exports to Arab states hit $8b

Iran exported around 8 billion dollars worth of non-oil products (excluding gas condensates) to Arab states in the past calendar year (ended March, 20, 2010), up 27 percent year on year.

ISNA News Agency reported that the exports to Arab nations made up 37 percent of the Islamic Republic's total exports last year.

He explained that exports to the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council states accounted for $3.35 billion of the exports, 10 percent more compared to the previous year.

Exports to other Arab countries including Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, Iraq and Yemen rose by 45 percent year on year.

Iran's total exports of non-oil goods to 160 countries amounted to $21.3 billion last year.

Iraq, China, the United Arab Emirates, India and Afghanistan were the major trading partners of Iran last year.

Iranian firms exported $3.1 billion worth of technical and engineering services to countries such as Turkmenistan, Sri Lanka, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Lebanon.
