Iran, Qatar commerce ministers review bilateral ties

Iranian Commerce Minister Mehdi Ghazanfari in a meeting with his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Jassem bin al-Thani called for holding joint trade committee session in the near future, IRNA reported.
       
Ghazanfari said the Islamic Republic of Iran attaches great importance to expansion of economic and trade ties with regional countries, Qatar in particular.

He referred to Iran-Qatar political cooperation as an appropriate pattern for all regional countries, expressing regret over the low level of the two countries trade ties.

Referring to Tehran-Doha historic relations, the Qatari minister, for his part, said mutual transactions do not meet the two sides' expectations.

Al-Thani also voiced his country's willingness to purchase medical equipment and services from Iran.

Iran-Qatar trade exchanges hit dlrs 108 million in 2010 of which Iran's exports stand at dlrs 62 million.
