Azerbaijan, Baku, Aug. 24 /Trend/

Iran has placed the fifth heavy crude oil cargo at $105.58 per barrel in the international oil exchange at Kish Island Wednesday which failed to be sold because of the price disagreement, IRNA reported.

The National Iranian Oil Company disagreed with customer's $1 discount demand. Therefore, the heavy crude oil cargo failed to be sold.

The National Iranian Oil Company placed 1 million barrels of heavy crude oil from the Behregan oil field and only had one customer.

Iran succeeded to sell 500,000 barrels of heavy crude oil last Wednesday in the international oil exchange at Kish Island.

Previously Managing Director of Tehran Stock Exchange Mahmoud Ghafarri underlined Iran will halt to place gasoline and furnace fuel oil in the international oil exchange at Kish Island because of continuous failure in selling cargo , however Iran's Oil Ministry Rostam Ghazanfari stressed the country will not give discount or lower the prices.

Iran possesses the world's second largest reserves of gas and third in oil reserves. Currently Iran experiences US sanctions over its nuclear program.

The U.S. Congress approved financial sanction against Iran in 2010, which imposes strict conditions for foreign investors and financial firms and prevents them from investing more than $20 million in Iran oil and gas industries.
