Uzbekistan achieves industrial production at 41.7 trillion sum in 2011

In 2011, Uzbekistan increased industrial output by 6.3 percent compared to 2010 - up to 41.7 trillion sum, the State Statistics Committee reported.

The share of fuel and energy sector in total industrial production was up to 25.5 percent last year, compared to 27.6 percent a year earlier. The share of electricity (8.4 per cent in 2010) and the share of fuel industry was 17.5 percent (19.2 percent in 2010).

The share of engineering and metalworking industries was 16.1 percent (16.2 percent), food industry - 14 percent (12.6 percent), light industry - 13.5 percent (13.4 percent), non-ferrous metals - 10.4 percent (11.3 percent), chemical and petrochemical industry - 5.5 percent (5.1 percent), industry of construction materials - 5.3 percent (5 percent), ferrous metallurgy - 2.6 percent (2.4 percent), wood and paper processing - 1.1 percent (1.1 percent), other industries - 6 percent (5.3 percent).

Uzbekistan increased the volume of industrial production by 8.3 percent in comparison to 2009.
In 2012, the government plans to ensure the growth of industrial production by 8.6 percent.
