The Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev urged Chairman of Kazakh National Bank Grigory Marchenko to attract funds of small banks and pension funds to the infrastructure projects at the meeting on Tuesday, the Kazakh presidential press-service reported following the President's meeting with Marchenko.
"Within the meeting, the President gave instructions on further modernization of public-private partnerships, as well as the possibility of attraction of small banks', pension funds' and other financial institutions' funds to major infrastructure projects in the country," the press-service said.
Within the meeting, Marchenko informed the President on the state of the Kazakh banking system and foreign exchange market, the ongoing work on improving the pension system in the country and the work of the Council for the Financial Stability and development of the Kazakhstan's financial market.
