Food products in Uzbekistan have affected the prices the most in December 2019, Trend reports citing Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee.
In December, food products accounted for 85.7 percent, non-food products - 10.1 percent and services - 4.2 percent of the total impact on the overall prices.
In December 2019, food products rose by 3.3 percent compared to November.
Since the beginning of 2019, food prices have increased by an average of 18.6 percent. Non-food products during this period rose by 10.9 percent, services - by 15.2 percent
Fresh cucumbers and tomatoes rose in price more than others, in December 2019, compared to November (2.1 times and 1.6 times, respectively).
Of the bakery products (including cereals and legumes), the most significant in December prices rose for buckwheat - by 4.4 percent, bread from wheat flour of the first grade - by 3.1 percent, mash - by 2.4 percent, wheat flour - by 2.2 percent. Along with this, rice has become cheaper by 1.5 percent.
In December 2019, meat, poultry and fish rose by an average of 0.9 percent. For December 2019, poultry meat (except for chicken legs) added 1.7 percent, chicken drumstick and chicken legs - 1.6 percent, lamb - 1.1 percent, beef (except boneless meat) - 0.6 percent, boneless beef - by 0.4 percent. Live and chilled fish became 1.4 percent more expensive.
In December 2019, milk and dairy products on average became more expensive by 1.8 percent.
Milk for December 2019 increased by 3.3 percent, cream - by 2.1 percent, yogurt and similar products - by 1.8 percent, cottage cheese - by 1.7 percent, hard cheese - by 1.5 percent , processed and sausage cheeses - by 1.3 percent.
Sugar went up by 0.2 percent, coffee, tea and pastries - by an average of 0.9 percent, other food products (salt, yeast, etc.) - by 1 percent.
In December 2019, butter rose by 0.9 percent, margarine - by 0.5 percent, sunflower oil - by 0.4 percent and cottonseed oil - by 0.2 percent.
