Georgia imported 2,900 tons of butter worth $14.5 million from January through July 2021, Trend reports with reference to the National Statistical Office of Georgia (Geostat).
According to statistics, while imports decreased by 25 percent compared to the same period last year.
According to Geostat, the TOP-3 countries-importers of butter to Georgia include:
Uruguay - 475 tons, $2 million;
France - 358 tons, $2.3 million;
Finland - 234 tons, $1.3 million.
As for exports, in the first 7 months of this year, 425 tons of butter worth $ 2.5 million were sold from Georgia to Azerbaijan and Armenia.
From January through July 2021, Georgia's foreign trade turnover amounted to $7.48 billion, which is 21.7 percent more than the same period last year.
Georgia's exports amounted to $2.27 billion (an increase of 27.8 percent), and imports - $5.20 billion (an increase of 19.3 percent).
The trade balance remained negative during this period - at the level of $2.93 billion.
