BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 6. A total of 2.58 million tons of goods worth 225 trillion rials (about $5.35 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the last Iranian week (May 28 through June 2, 2022), Trend reports citing the IME’s official website.
This is an increase of 68 percent in value 23.4 percent in volume, compared to the preceding Iranian week (May 21 through May 26, 2022).
So, 2.09 million tons of goods worth 134 trillion rials (about $3.18 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the preceding week.
According to the report, about 2.1 million tons of goods worth about 136 trillion rials (about $3.25 billion) were sold in IME's industrial and mining products section last week.
The main products sold in this section were cement, iron ore, steel, sponge iron, aluminum, copper, zinc, concentrate of precious metals, gold, etc.
In addition, about 436,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth 80.7 trillion rials (about $1.92 billion) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME last Iranian week, the report said.
The main products sold in this section were polymer substances, bitumen, lube cut, vacuum bottom, chemicals, sulfur, base oil, argon, etc.
Furthermore, 35,400 tons of various products worth about 6.6 trillion rials (about $157 million) were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.
At the same time, 3 tons of saffron worth 1.02 trillion rials (about $24.3 million) were sold in the agricultural section of the exchange.
