BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 18. Iran increased its non-oil exports to Uzbekistan by more than 30 percent in value and volume in the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.

During six months, Iran exported 239,000 tons of non-oil products worth $160 million to Uzbekistan, as reflected in the data of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

In the same period last year, Iran’s non-oil exports to Uzbekistan stood at 176,000 tons worth $121 million.

In the 6th month alone (August 23 through September 22, 2023), Iran exported 35,800 tons of goods worth $29 million to Uzbekistan.

Iran exported to Uzbekistan mainly milk and dairy products, petrochemical products, various types of pipes, glassware, agricultural equipment, etc. during those six months.

Overall, Iran exported 67.7 million tons of non-oil products worth over $24.1 billion in the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21 through August 22, 2023). This is an increase of 2.62 percent in value and a decrease of 29 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.

Iran’s non-oil exports do not include crude oil, mazut, and white oil, which are subject to US sanctions that prevent Iran from exporting them freely. Therefore, Iran has been focusing on increasing its non-oil exports to cope with the economic pressure.
