Initiated by the National Technical Committee for Social Responsibilities created under the State Agency for Standardization, Metrology and Patent of Azerbaijan, a seminar began on 22 November on the topic International standardization of social responsibilities development tendency. The two-day seminar was organized to inform the public on the new social responsibilities standards of ISO 26000 and participation possibilities in the standardization processes, Trend reports.
The seminar is aimed at increasing the level of knowledge about the social responsibilities amongst the representatives of the state and private sector and developing it in the future. The issuance of the standards is expected to take place in 2008. The works in this respect have been done for several years. Azerbaijan also participates in this process.
The Chief Consultant of the International Relations Department of the State Agency Rahim Guliyev presented information regarding the activities of ISO, as well as works done on working out new standards by the various committees and groups of the organization.
During the seminar, the main presentation will be made by the Specialist of the Austrian Standards Institute, Martin Neureiter, who is the head of the research group for adoption of social responsibility standards of ISO. The seminar brings together the representatives of various ministries and departments of the country, NGOs, enterprises and scientific-research institutions.
