SOCAR plans to put into operation three filling stations in Azerbaijan in the first quarter of 2010.The number of filling stations will reach 10 in the second quarter, SOCAR head Rovnag Abdullayev said today.
"Now the construction of 10 filling stations is underway. Three of them will be commissioned in the first quarter, but the remaining seven by late of the second quarter," Abdullayev said.
According to him, the company plans to build 26 filling stations in Azerbaijan.
The company conducted preparatory work for switching to the Euro-3standard, to improve the quality of fuel produced in Azerbaijan.
"It is necessary to build some new plants to pass to these standards. Existing facilities must be changed. All these operations are implemented," Abdullayev said.
At the moment, the quality of products made by the company complies with the Euro-2 standard.
