There are no serious worries with regards to Iran's oil sales dropping to zero, Ghasem Saedi, member of the Iranian Parliament Committee on Energy, told Tasnim News Agency, Trend reports.

It is impossible, according to Saedi, that Iran's oil sales will be reduced to zero due to the US sanctions.

Saedi added that Iran had been a country regularly exporting oil and therefore had always had customers from other countries interesting in purchasing its oil.

"Due to compatibility, Iranian oil can be used by the oil refineries of many countries purchasing oil from Iran," he said.

The Iranian MP said that the change in the operation and equipment of oil refineries could cost a lot for these countries. Therefore, these countries prefer to buy oil from Iran regardless of the circumstances.

In any case, Iran should take some measures to reduce oil revenues in the budget, Saedi said.

The US imposed sanctions on Iran in November 2018. The US exempted 8 countries for 6 months from oil sanctions imposed on Iran. These countries continue to buy oil from Iran. The US announced that it will not extend the exemption period, which will end May 2.
