ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 23. KazTransOil has successfully completed the construction of a new section of the main oil pipeline "Pavlodar – Shymkent" with a diameter of 820 mm (1587–1598 km), laid to bypass the village of Shubarsu in the Ordabasy district of the Turkestan region of Kazakhstan, Trend reports.
According to the company’s information, the new linear section
with a length of more than 11 km was connected on May 22, 2025.
“The project was completed ahead of schedule and is aimed at
improving the reliability of the pipeline system and reducing
technogenic risks. It allowed for the decommissioning of the
worn-out section running near the residential area of the village
of Shubarsu and ensured safe and sustainable transportation of
oil,” the company said in a statement.
The company reported that a 72-hour shutdown of the pipeline was planned on the section from the Chulak-Kurgan Main Pumping Station (MPS) to the Shymkent Receiving and Delivery Point (RDP) in order to connect the new section. The work was carried out in full compliance with occupational safety, industrial safety, and environmental requirements and did not affect the overall volume of oil throughput.
Moreover, to implement the production task, more than one hundred employees from the Mangystau, Aktobe, Pavlodar, Karaganda, Zhezkazgan, and Shymkent pipeline management divisions and the company’s central office, as well as over 40 units of specialized equipment, were involved.
The construction and commissioning of this section are part of KazTransOil’s strategy to modernize production assets and ensure uninterrupted oil transportation.
