Pogroms in the village of Maevka in Kyrgyzstan accused to be brought to trial

The cases of the accused of organization of pogroms in the village of Maevka in Kyrgyzstan have been handed over to court. Dinara Mambetova, the lawyer of the three of five arrested persons on the "Maevka case", informed 24.kg news agency.

According to her, one of the defendants - Gandzamidin uulu Shamil - is an underage and is on his own recognizance. The others are kept in pretrial detention center of the SNSS till trial.

"Regarding my defendants, I can say that they are incriminated in articles 233 and 234 of the Criminal Code of Kyrgyzstan - "Participation in disorders" and "Rowdyism." They are acknowledging their guilt partially," Dinara Mambetova said.

She emphasized that the above mentioned articles specified imprisonment for up to 10 years. The trial of the case of pogroms in Maevka will be held on September 29 in the Alamudun district court.
