Central Election Commission in Kyrgyzstan is the forth authority branch, Omurbek Tekebayev, Ata Meken faction leader, stated at the seminar for the representatives of Central Election Commission (CEC) and referendum holding today, 24.kg reported.
According to him, the CEC has a big responsibility. "There will be elections to local governments already in 2012. The CEC together with local authorities will held election there to eliminate the administrative the pressure. And people themselves must choose their representatives in government," said Omurbek Tekebayev.
He also noted that all significant for the state polls may be held with the participation of the CEC. "Perhaps CEC powers will be expanded in the future. Even the leadership elections in enterprises can be held with the participation of the CEC. For today we have significant achievements. CEC is responsible for the voter lists under the new legislation. Registration refusal is another revolutionary innovation. Thus, we gave the opportunity to vote for 100 thousand of voters," added Omurbek Tekebayev.
