DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, May 29. The assets of Tajikistan's Humo micro-deposit organization totaled 1.604 billion somoni ($149.267 million) as of March 31, 2024, Trend reports.

According to data from the National Bank of Tajikistan, this figure decreased by 1 percent compared to 1.622 billion somoni ($150.942 million) as of December 31, 2023.

The organization's liabilities amounted to 1.316 billion somoni ($122.465 million) at the end of the first quarter of 2024, decreasing by 2.5 percent from 1.351 billion somoni ($125.723 million) at the end of 2023.

Moreover, Humo's equity capital stood at 288 million somoni ($26.801 million), representing a 6 percent increase from December 2023's figure of 270.6 million somoni ($25.740 million).

To note, the primary activity of Humo is providing financial services to rural populations and supporting the development of small and medium-sized businesses in impoverished areas of Tajikistan.

There were 63 credit financial institutions operating in Tajikistan, as of March 31, 2024. These included 14 traditional banks, 1 Islamic bank, 1 non-bank credit organization, 19 microcredit deposit organizations, 3 microcredit organizations, and 25 microcredit funds.
